The Chrysler Pacifica Versus the Honda Odyssey
When it was first introduced, the Chrysler Pacifica completely invigorated the minivan segment, a fact made evident by the it being the most awarded minivan of both 2016 and 2017. However, you may be wondering how it measures up against another popular minivan — the Honda Odyssey.
We decided to look at the two minivans, putting the Pacifica Touring L model up against the Odyssey SE. The Odyssey comes in with a slightly lower initial MSRP, comes with a CD player and offers nine more total feet in cargo space, and it seats eight while the Pacifica seats seven. Other than that, the two minivans are extremely similar — except for some key factors in the Pacifica’s favor.
Both the Pacifica and the Odyssey are rated for 19 mpg city, but the Pacifica is rated to provide higher highway mpg. For those times when you need extra power, the Pacifica’s 3.6-liter V6 engine teams with a 9-speed automatic transmission to manufacture 287 horsepower, with the Odyssey’s 3.5liter V6 engine and 6-speed automatic capable of 248 horsepower.
Pacifica owners enjoy 5 years and 60,000 miles (whichever comes first) of Roadside Assistance, while the Honda only provides 3 years or 36,000 miles (whichever comes first).
